Introducing the Muscle Milk Light Half Marathon Challenge Athletes

We are very excited about a new program getting underway for this year’s Texas race- The Muscle Milk Light Half Marathon Challenge, powered by ZOOMA and H-E-B.  Five lucky ladies will receive lots of perks through the program as they train for their very first half marathon including the support of our ZOOMA Texas Ambassadors, a training plan, training tee, education from an H-E-B dietitian, a yoga session, race entry, and Muscle Milk Light to fuel their recovery.

 

We had many wonderful applicants, and our hope is that ZOOMA Texas will be the first half marathon for all of these athletes. But out of this group, we’ve selected some fabulous ladies who are ready to go the distance.

 

Nora Dock

 

Nora has recently become a stay at home mom to a special needs toddler who joined her family through adoption.  She says, “I want to show my son that I will be strong for him no matter what.”  Nora has been chosen as our Muscle Milk Light Athlete, and in addition to the support above, she’ll be receiving gear, race weekend hotel accommodations at The Hyatt Lost Pines Resort, and spa treatment at Spa Django.

 

 

 

Kelly Sharenko 

 

Kelly was training for her first half marathon last December when she had a near collision with a car and broke her ankle.  Determined to stay active during her recovery, she took up ZUMBA and even became a certified instructor.  She is ready to show all women that they can live a healthy lifestyle despite obstacles.

 

 

 

 

 

Shannah Peters

 

Shannah has recently found her passion for running again, and has lost 30 pounds.  She wants to raise her two beautiful daughters to share the same love for healthy living.  She says, “I would love to see the happiness on my girls’ and husband’s face when I finish this half marathon.”

 

 

 

Rhonda Cloos

 

Rhonda’s long time running partner has recently moved away and she is looking forward to the support of this program as she pumps her running to the next level.  Rhonda has discovered while running with a friend that four legs runs farther than two!

 

 

 

Beth Graham

 

Beth began running last January and since then has lost 30 pounds.  She enjoys inspiring friends to begin running for their health, and raising money for causes important to her through the races she has done.  She’s looking forward to her first half marathon, and has a goal to run a full marathon before she turns 40.

 

 

 

 

The training for these ladies is getting underway soon!  We’re looking forward to seeing all of these athletes discover the pride and accomplishment that comes with completing a half marathon. Thank you Muscle Milk Light and H-E-B for making this program possible.
