Overcoming obstacles as they come their way

Our Muscle Milk Light Half Marathon Challenge athletes ended their first training week on a high.   We met up at Luke’s Locker for the ZOOMA Texas Training Kickoff, which included a run with the ZOOMA Texas Ambassadors, snacks, prizes, massages, Muscle Milk Light, and shoe fittings.  After this inspiring event, these ladies are pumped to take their running to the next level this year.  

While together, they got the opportunity to preview the schedule of events designed to support them in their training including a grocery store tour with an H-E-B dietitian, a yoga session at Mind Body Yoga, Zumba class, and a course preview out at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. We’ve got six miles on the training plan this weekend, which is the farthest some of our program participants have ever gone, but they move forward with the ZOOMA Texas Half Marathon in their sights.

Below, Kelly Sharenko, one of our challenge participants, tells us about her week of training and how she overcame the obstacles that came her way.  Kelly is being supported by ZOOMA Texas Ambassador Melissa Carlson of Melissa Runs.
