In her directorial debut, Christy Turlington Burns shares the powerful stories of at-risk pregnant women from around the world. Inspired by her own experience, Christy suffered a serious complication just after delivering her first child; the documentary film reveals four stories from a remote Maasai tribe in Tanzania, a slum of Bangladesh, a care ward in Guatemala, and a prenatal clinic in the United States.
The film first premiered in Tribeca in 2010 and then on the Oprah Winfrey Network in 2011. In between, it’s been screened on college campuses, global health conferences and various other events around the world. This is the film that inspired the formation of ZOOMA’s Official Charity Partner, Every Mother Counts. Watch it and be inspired at ZOOMA Florida the night before your race.
