The Orange Duffel Bag Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Marietta, GA, provides professional life plan and goal achievement coaching to at-risk youth (ages 12-24), especially focusing on youth in foster care and those aging out who are at high risk of becoming homeless. ODBF encourages community connections and provides their youth graduates with ongoing advocates and resources to help young people on their paths to self-sufficiency. When they graduate from the 12-week coaching course, they receive a fully loaded laptop computer and an orange duffel bag. To their knowledge, ODBF is one of the only organizations in the nation concentrating on helping young people create achievable life plans. ODBF’s coaching is based on the multi-award winning book My Orange Duffel Bag: A Journey to Radical Change.
