Course Information

New course for 2012! The half marathon starts on the shore of Geneva Lake in the quaint town of Lake Geneva, on the eastern side of the lake. You’ll take in a relaxing waterfront view as you head out of town along S Lakeshore Drive, passing Gilded Age-era mansions along the southern shore. As it happens, the Abbey Resort, the host of your fit girls’ getaway, is almost exactly 13 miles from Lake Geneva on the western side of the lake in the Town of Fontana. The course will challenge you with rolling hills under a shady tree canopy, until a sloping downhill brings you to the finish line at the Abbey Resort. Transportation between Lake Geneva and Fontana will be available before the the race. The 5K course starts and finishes at the Abbey Resort.

Aid Stations

ZOOMA Great Lakes Half Marathon course will include 8 aid stations with water and Cytomax sports performance drink. ZOOMA Great Lakes 5K course will include 2 aid stations.

Kids’ Run

The approx. 1K kids’ run will leave from the start line about 15 minutes after the race starts. Register on race morning for free at the Information table near the start line.

Packet Pickup Schedule

Please pick up your packet at one of the following locations.  There is no race day packet pickup.

Mailed Packet Option: Before October 7, you can choose to have your packet mailed to you for $20 during the week before the race. Choose this option during registration, or send a check for $20 with your registration confirmation number to:

Awards

Non-cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers overall, the Master’s division (age 40 and over) and the Mother/Daughter division in the Half Marathon and 5K.

The top three finishers in each age group will be recognized at the awards ceremonies for the half marathon & 5K, and first place female finishers in each age group will receive a frameable certificate in the mail. Age group divisions include: 12 – 14; 15 – 19; 20 – 24; 25 – 29; 30 – 34; 35 – 39; 40 -44; 45 – 49; 50 – 54; 55 – 59; 60 – 64; 65 – 69; 70 – 74; 80+

Finishers’ Prize

All half marathon finishers will receive a ZOOMA Great Lakes commemorative jewelry from Satya Jewelry!

Inline Skates, Strollers and Dogs Not Allowed On Course

For the safety of all participants, inline skates, strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course at any time.

Course Time Limit

There is a 3.5 hour course limit to complete the half marathon and 5K races.
