5 things healthy women do


When it comes to taking steps for better health, we know it’s not always easy. Every woman has her own approach and is on her own unique, personal health journey.

National Women’s Health Week kicks off each year on Mother’s Day and it empowers women to make their health a priority and encourages them to take the following steps to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risks of certain diseases

For the first time, ZOOMA has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health to help you make your health a priority. We’re asking women to think about where they are on their health journey and where they want to go.

Here are the top 5 things healthy women do to live their best, healthiest life, mentally and physically:

  1. Get Check Ups. Schedule regular appointments with your doctor for a checkup or well-woman visit, and stay up to date on preventive screenings and vaccines. Keep in mind that your health needs change over time. You might be surprised about the questions you should be asking based on your age.   2. Be Active. Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week. To celebrate getting active this week we’d love for you to participate in the free ZOOMA’s Find Your Health 5k/1k

  3. Eat healthy, opting for whole, unprocessed foods as often as possible and drink plenty of water.

  4. Pay attention to mental health, including getting enough rest, managing stress and being mindful of feelings of depression.

  5. Practice safe behaviors like quitting smoking, not texting while driving and protecting yourself from sexually transmitted diseases.
